The Therapeutic Riding Hippo-Helper, invented by Kathylyn Barnhill, PT is an adaptable positioning device which stabilizes a rider, allowing the therapist or instructor and side walkers to focus more effectively on the rider. It provides a surface for upper extremity weight bearing to facilitate trunk/head control and upper extremity use. The Hippo-Helper has been successfully utilized in PATH International Premier Accredited approved riding centers. It is adjustable, allowing for different configurations for the needs of different riders. The Hippo-Helper has a bean bag attachment to accommodate the horse’s withers. The Hippo-Helper is not intended to be used as a gait belt or walker belt by side-walkers, nor does it attach to the horse or the saddle. Color varies.
